Welcoming Our New Omnia Academy Trainees

Welcoming Our 2024 Omnia Academy Trainees image

Earlier this week, we were thrilled to welcome our new intake of trainees into our Omnia Academy.

The trainees began the week with some in-house training, and were given an overview of the electricity transmission and distribution industry. They were given the opportunity to tour a recently designed virtual substation, using VR headsets.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome the new intake. We recognise that resource is a key restriction to the UK achieving net zero, and so attracting and training fresh talent into the industry is key."

John Atkinson

Chief Engineer

The Omnia Academy is aimed at those with little to no experience in the electricity and transmission industry, and the programme is tailored to each individual, focusing on their strengths and interests, whilst aligning to the requirements of the business.

One of our experienced engineers are assigned as a mentor to guide you through a development programme, consisting of active project involvement and classroom based training. This includes enrolment on a part-time HNC course.
