A Look Inside the Omnia Academy!

Congratulations to our trainee engineers, who last week completed their in-house training on Safety and Setting to Work!

At Omnia Projects, we pride ourselves on our ability to provide quality services, and our trainee engineers are no exception; these bespoke, industry-specific courses were designed and delivered by Omnia engineers to supplement our trainees’ standard study-load, giving them a deeper understanding of what it means to work in a specialised role which is both challenging and rewarding. This in-house training is designed to go beyond what our trainee engineers can expect to learn as they study for their HNC in Electrical Engineering.

These unique learning experiences are special events in the Omnia Academy calendar: each month, trainees enjoy a one-day course which covers industry-specific topics from some of our most knowledgeable Omnia engineers, with subjects ranging from Substation Design, HV Cables and Overhead Lines, and Protection Systems, to Control Systems, Safety & Setting to Work, Operation of the System, and Drawings & Records Systems.

Any trainee will tell you that the sheer volume of information that newbie apprentices have to absorb during their studies might seem a little overwhelming: that’s why, at the Omnia Academy, our tailor-made course content is just one way we aim to support students throughout Stage One of their training and beyond.

How else does the Omnia Academy support trainees?

We’re especially proud of our Mentorship Programme, which matches trainees with one of our veteran engineers who can offer practical guidance and support throughout the apprenticeship, from experience on dynamic new projects around the UK, to integral classroom-based training. As an employer, we embrace flexibility and personal ambition- we want our trainees to be excited about what they learn and feel supported in pursuing their interests within the requirements of our business; that’s why we tailor our programmes to the strengths of our trainees and provide secure foundations in the fast-changing world of engineering.

After all, the engineering innovators of tomorrow are the engineering students of today; at Omnia Projects, we believe in nurturing that talent through high-quality training which will prepare them for an energy sector which is dynamic and ever-evolving. Congratulations to all of our Omnia Academy trainees on some excellent work!
