Role Description : Senior P6 Planner

As a Senior Planner you will support our project managers and clients with the development and management of projects from concept, through project delivery and finally on to financial close. Projects are varied in size and scale with some at the forefront of the UK's drive to decarbonise the power industry. You will be part of a multi-disciplined team ensuring the planning and project controls aspects of the projects are appropriately managed to the highest quality and in accordance with the client, stakeholder and/or regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

· Build and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external parties

· Preparing & updating the Detailed Design Programme along with our designers to insurance providing a robust and realistic schedule that reflects the risk and opportunity that could impact key project milestones

· Review and develop the preferred design/construction sequence considering project wide constraints to confirm the duration in the overall scheme schedule

· Facilitate design/construction readiness planning

· Arrange, facilitate and provide output from client and supply chain collaborative planning sessions

· Review/manage and analyse sub-suppliers & contractor programme to ensure compliance with good programming practices and contractual requirements

· Cost load the schedule where appropriate

· Generate Earned Value Analysis from the cost loaded schedule

· Monthly updating of the schedule and reports

· Update and analyse the schedule based on the effects of Compensation events or other events which may affect the programme.

· Seek to minimise the cost of a project and enhance value for money whilst still achieving the required standards and quality

· Assist to avoid disputes with clients, suppliers and subcontractors

· Give feedback to the relevant parties with regards to contract pricing

· Contribute to and attend progress meetings with clients and sub-contractors as required

· Ensure that contractor’s programmes are realistic and managed in accordance with system access and project requirements

· Contribute to project the risk register

· Adhere to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.

Experience

· Customer-centric approach to delivering a high-quality output

· Understanding of the application of NEC4 forms of contract

· Experience working in a electrical or other such utilities or civils environment

· Experience of working in cross functional teams

· Experience of stakeholder management.

· Proficient business writing and communication skills.

· Knowledge of Safety and Environmental legislation, practices and policies.

Qualifications

· Degree or equivalent in engineering discipline, or relevant experience.

· Achieved or working towards professional qualifications such as APM, RICS, CICES or equivalent or relevant experience.

· Must already have the Right to Work in the UK or be able to secure this prior to commencement of the role.

Location:

Hybrid working but must be willing to travel anywhere throughout the UK.

We have office locations in Cheshire, Northallerton and Stafford but base locations are flexible.

Work Hours:

Ideally full time but may consider part time positions.

Package:

Full time Staff or Contingent Worker Contract options available.
