Role Description
Omnia Projects are seeking an experianced Principal Civil Engineer, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing and implementing projects in the UK HV Power Sector. As such they will collaborate daily with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative civil design solutions for large scale HV Power Sector engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the Project manager with establishing and managing programme timelines, budgets, and resources for civil design packages.
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Conduct detailed feasibility studies.
- Scope and oversee Site investigations.
- Undertake Designers Risk assessments.
- Participate in multidisciplinary Design and HAZARD Review’s.
- Prepare detailed design drawings.
- Prepare detailed design specifications.
- Prepare detailed technical justification reports.
- Utilise industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) for modelling and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
- Participate in project meetings, client presentations, and stakeholder engagements.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to their professional growth.
Experience in the HV Power Sector or similar large infrastructure projects preferred but not essential.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Min 5 years of experience in civil /structure design / Project Management Consultants or similar office.
- Membership or working towards membership of ICE or similar
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM 360, Revit and other relevant software.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong Project Management Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with Engineers from other disciplines.
- Familiar with BIM standards BS1192 / BS EN ISO 19650
- Familiar with BIM documentation, such as Exchange Information Requirements, BIM Execution Plans, Master Information Deliver Plans
- Solid understanding of CDM Regulations 2015
Location:
Flexible hybrid role
The individual must be willing to travel for meetings and site visits.
